CD25
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001764
The alpha subunit of the interleukin-2 receptor (IL-2Rα), a membrane protein carried by activated T lymphocytes and regulatory T cells. On its own it binds IL-2 weakly, but joined with CD122 (IL-2Rβ) and CD132 (the common gamma chain) it forms the high-affinity receptor, and its presence on a T cell is read as a marker of activation. It is encoded by the IL2RA gene.
