Charge-transfer device
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001917
A semiconductor device that operates by transferring packets of charge, representing information, across an array of closely spaced metal-oxide-semiconductor capacitors. The charge is generated by incident photons or electrons and then moved sequentially to a readout amplifier. These devices are widely used as detectors in spectroscopy and imaging applications.
