Collimator

A device used to produce a parallel beam of radiation or particles, or to limit the angular divergence of a beam. It consists of a series of absorbing plates or channels that block rays not traveling in the desired direction. Collimators are widely used in nuclear medicine and radiation therapy to shape radiation fields.
