Dark reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002861
The set of biochemical reactions in photosynthesis that do not directly require light energy, but instead use the ATP and NADPH produced during the light-dependent reactions. These reactions, also known as the Calvin cycle, fix carbon dioxide from the atmosphere into organic molecules. They occur in the stroma of chloroplasts.
