Disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain-containing protein 33

A transmembrane protein that belongs to the ADAM (A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase) family, characterized by both disintegrin and metalloproteinase domains. This protein is involved in cell adhesion, cell fusion, and proteolytic processing of other proteins. It has been identified as a susceptibility gene for asthma and other allergic diseases.
