Endocytosis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003894
A cellular process where substances are brought into the cell by engulfing them in a vesicle formed from the cell membrane. This mechanism allows cells to internalize molecules, particles, and even other cells from their external environment. Phagocytosis and pinocytosis are two common forms of endocytosis.
