First stability region
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004438
A specific operating regime in a Paul ion trap or quadrupole mass spectrometer where ions of a particular mass-to-charge ratio exhibit stable trajectories. This region is defined by the values of the radiofrequency and DC voltages applied to the electrodes. Ions outside this region are ejected from the trap or filter.
