Hypertonia
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005531
An abnormally increased muscle tone, characterized by resistance to passive movement of a limb. This neurological condition results from damage to the central nervous system, often affecting motor pathways. It can manifest as spasticity, where resistance increases with faster movement, or rigidity, where resistance is constant regardless of speed.
