Inverse mini-emulsion polymerisation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006052
A polymerization process where a water-soluble monomer is dispersed as submicrometer droplets in a continuous oil phase, stabilized by a surfactant and a co-stabilizer. These droplets are formed by high-shear homogenization and act as individual nanoreactors for polymerization. This technique is particularly suitable for producing polymer particles with narrow size distributions, often in the range of 50 to 500 nanometers.
