Mini-emulsion
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007390
A stable dispersion of very small droplets, typically 50 to 500 nanometers in diameter, of a monomer or polymer in a continuous phase, stabilized by a combination of surfactant and a hydrophobic component. This type of emulsion is formed by applying high shear forces to a conventional emulsion. It is used in polymerization reactions to produce polymer particles with controlled size and morphology.
