Long chain

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006761

A macromolecule or a segment of a macromolecule that consists of a large number of constitutional units linked in sequence. The term implies a sufficient length such that its properties are largely independent of the end groups. The relative molecular mass of a long chain is typically above a few thousand grams per mole.
