Lyophilic sols

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006851

Colloidal dispersions in which the dispersed phase has a strong affinity for the dispersion medium, leading to high stability. The particles are extensively solvated, forming a protective layer that prevents coagulation. These sols are thermodynamically stable and can often be reformed by simply mixing the dispersed phase with the solvent after drying.
