Macronutrient

A chemical element or substance required in relatively large quantities for the growth and metabolism of an organism. For humans, these include carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, which provide energy and building blocks for tissues. Plants require macronutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium for healthy development.
