Mantle zone

The outer layer of a lymphoid follicle, surrounding the germinal center, composed primarily of small, naive B lymphocytes. These cells have not yet been activated by antigen and are in a resting state. The mantle zone is a characteristic feature of secondary lymphoid organs like lymph nodes and spleen.
