Microphotometer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007345

An instrument designed to measure the intensity of light transmitted through a small area of a photographic plate or film. It operates by focusing a narrow beam of light onto the sample and detecting the transmitted light with a photodetector. This device is frequently employed in spectroscopy to quantify the darkness of spectral lines.
