Milling
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007386
The mechanical process of reducing the particle size of a solid material through grinding, crushing, or cutting. This operation aims to produce a more homogeneous powder from a coarse or heterogeneous sample, preparing it for subsequent analysis or processing. Milling is distinct from comminution, which is a more general term for particle size reduction that also includes breaking and shattering.
