Mono-energetic radiation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007545
Radiation composed of particles or photons that all possess the same kinetic energy. This type of radiation is distinct from polychromatic or polyenergetic radiation, which consists of a range of energies. Mono-energetic beams are often produced by filtering or selecting particles from a broader energy spectrum, and are used in precise analytical techniques.
