N-methyl-D-aspartate-type glutamate receptor
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013335
A specific subtype of ionotropic glutamate receptor that is a ligand-gated ion channel, activated by the binding of glutamate and glycine or D-serine. This receptor is permeable to calcium ions and sodium ions, and its activity is modulated by magnesium ions. It is involved in synaptic plasticity and memory formation in the central nervous system.
