Nodal

Relating to a node, which is a point of intersection or a localized region of specialized tissue. In developmental biology, nodal signaling pathways are involved in patterning the early embryo and establishing body axes. This signaling molecule belongs to the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily.
