Photorearrangement
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008916
A chemical reaction in which the atoms within a molecule rearrange their connectivity following the absorption of light. This process leads to the formation of an isomer of the starting material, often involving the migration of groups or changes in ring structure. Examples include the di-π-methane rearrangement and photoisomerization reactions.
