Replication
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010197
The biological process by which a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) molecule is duplicated to produce two identical DNA molecules. This process involves the unwinding of the double helix and the synthesis of new complementary strands. Each new DNA molecule consists of one original strand and one newly synthesized strand.
