Solid polymer electrolyte

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010992

A solvent-free polymer material containing dissolved salts that exhibits ionic conductivity. It consists of a polymer host, such as poly(ethylene oxide), and a salt, such as a lithium salt, which dissociates to provide mobile ions. The transport of ions occurs through the amorphous regions of the polymer matrix via segmental motion of the polymer chains.
