Surface dipole layer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011637
A region at an interface where there is a net orientation of molecular dipoles, creating an electric potential difference across the interface. This layer arises from the asymmetric environment of molecules at the surface compared to the bulk. It contributes to the overall surface potential and influences interfacial phenomena.
