Thermoplastic elastomer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011984
A copolymer or a blend of polymers that exhibits both thermoplastic and elastomeric properties. These materials behave like thermoset rubbers at room temperature but can be processed like thermoplastics at elevated temperatures. They consist of at least two phases, one being a hard, crystalline or glassy thermoplastic phase and the other a soft, amorphous elastomeric phase.
