Topographic contrast
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012114
The variation in signal intensity observed in surface analysis techniques that arises from differences in the surface height or angle relative to the detector. This contrast mechanism allows for the visualization of surface morphology and roughness. It is commonly exploited in scanning probe microscopy and electron microscopy to reveal surface features.
