Addressin
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000237
A class of cell adhesion molecules expressed on the surface of endothelial cells in specific vascular beds, particularly in lymphoid tissues. These molecules act as ligands for homing receptors, such as L-selectin, on circulating lymphocytes. Addressins guide lymphocytes to their appropriate lymphoid organs, facilitating immune surveillance.
