Bacille Calmette-Guérin

A live, attenuated strain of Mycobacterium bovis used as a vaccine against tuberculosis. It stimulates a strong cell-mediated immune response, providing protection against severe forms of the disease, particularly in children. This vaccine is also employed as an immunotherapy for superficial bladder cancer due to its immunostimulatory properties.
