Decidual cell response technique
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002902
A bioassay used to evaluate the uterus's capacity for decidualization, a key process for embryo implantation. The method involves hormonally preparing a non-pregnant female animal, typically a rodent, to mimic the endocrine state of early pregnancy and then applying a physical or chemical stimulus to the uterine lining. The resulting growth and differentiation of endometrial stromal cells into decidual cells is then measured to assess the effects of potential reproductive toxicants on this transformation.
