Decidualization

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013019

The process of differentiation undergone by endometrial stromal cells in preparation for and during pregnancy. This transformation involves morphological and biochemical changes, including increased cell size, lipid accumulation, and secretion of specific proteins. It is a hormone-dependent process, primarily regulated by progesterone and estrogen, that creates a receptive environment for embryo implantation.
