Differential capacitance

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003166

The derivative of the electric charge on an electrode with respect to the electrode potential, at a constant temperature and pressure. It quantifies the change in charge stored at the electrode-electrolyte interface for a small change in potential. This value is typically measured in farads per square centimeter (F cm⁻²) and provides insight into the structure of the electrical double layer.
