Drug-induced autoimmunity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003453
An immune response where the body's own tissues are attacked due to exposure to a pharmaceutical agent. This condition can manifest with symptoms similar to spontaneous autoimmune diseases, but typically resolves upon discontinuation of the offending drug. Hydralazine and procainamide are known to induce lupus-like syndromes.
