Ly-6

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013244

A family of glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored cell surface proteins found on hematopoietic cells, particularly lymphocytes and myeloid cells in mice. These proteins are involved in cell signaling, adhesion, and the regulation of immune responses, including T-cell activation and differentiation. Different members of the Ly-6 family, such as Ly-6A/E and Ly-6G, are used as cell surface markers to identify and isolate specific subsets of immune cells for research.
