Macrocycle
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013248
A cyclic macromolecule or a macromolecular cyclic portion of a molecule. This structure contains at least one ring formed by a sequence of atoms, where the ring closure occurs within the same molecule. Macrocycles are often characterized by their ability to encapsulate smaller molecules or ions within their cavity.
