Non-dispersive infrared spectroscopies
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008019
A group of spectroscopic techniques that measure the absorption of infrared radiation by a sample without using a dispersive element like a prism or diffraction grating. Instead, they use optical filters or modulated sources to select specific wavelength bands corresponding to the absorption features of the target analyte. This approach is frequently employed in dedicated gas analyzers for monitoring species such as carbon dioxide or hydrocarbons.
