Non-saturating solute
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008049
A component in a solution that is present at a concentration below its solubility limit, meaning it can still dissolve more of that substance. This solute does not form a separate solid phase or reach its maximum possible concentration in the solvent. Its concentration can be increased without causing precipitation or phase separation.
