Phototransistor
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008939
A semiconductor device that acts as a light-sensitive switch or amplifier, where the current flowing through it is controlled by the intensity of incident light. It combines the light-sensing capabilities of a photodiode with the current amplification of a transistor. This component is often used in optical sensors and light-activated circuits.
