Sarcoidosis

A systemic inflammatory disease characterized by the formation of granulomas, which are small collections of immune cells, in one or more organs of the body. It most commonly affects the lungs and lymph nodes, but can also impact the skin, eyes, liver, and heart. The exact cause of sarcoidosis is unknown, but it is thought to involve an abnormal immune response.
