Sulfonium compounds
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011567
Organic compounds containing a trivalent sulfur atom bonded to three hydrocarbyl groups, forming a positively charged species. These compounds are classified as onium compounds due to the positive charge residing on the sulfur atom. The general formula for a sulfonium cation is R3S+, where R represents an organic group.
