Torsion angle

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012124

The dihedral angle between two planes defined by four sequentially bonded atoms, typically denoted as A-B-C-D. It describes the relative orientation of two parts of a molecule around a central bond. A torsion angle of 0° indicates a syn-periplanar conformation, while 180° indicates an anti-periplanar conformation.
