Toxoplasmosis

An infectious disease caused by the parasite Toxoplasma gondii, which can infect most warm-blooded animals, including humans. While often asymptomatic in healthy individuals, it can cause severe complications in immunocompromised persons and pregnant women, potentially leading to congenital defects in the fetus. Cats are definitive hosts for the parasite.
