Two hybrid system

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012371

A molecular biology technique used to detect protein-protein interactions in vivo, typically within a yeast cell. It involves fusing two proteins of interest to separate domains of a transcription factor, where interaction between the proteins reconstitutes the transcription factor's activity. This reconstitution then activates a reporter gene, providing a measurable signal of the interaction.
