Cooperative transition
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002553
A phase transition in which a large number of constituent units within a system undergo a simultaneous or highly correlated change in their state. This collective behavior leads to a sharp and often dramatic change in the macroscopic properties of the material. Examples include magnetic ordering transitions and protein folding.
