Cyclopolymerization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002828
A polymerization reaction where a monomer containing at least two unsaturated bonds undergoes intramolecular cyclization during chain growth, leading to the formation of cyclic units within the polymer backbone. This process results in a polymer chain that incorporates cyclic structures as part of its repeating units. For example, the polymerization of 1,6-heptadiene can lead to a polymer containing five- or six-membered rings.
