Graphitization

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005009

A high-temperature heat treatment process that transforms non-graphitic carbon materials into a more ordered, graphitic structure. This involves the rearrangement of carbon atoms into stacked graphene layers, leading to increased crystallinity, electrical conductivity, and thermal stability. The process typically occurs at temperatures above 2000 °C.
