Isosbestic point

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006214

A specific wavelength at which the molar absorptivity of two or more components in a chemical system is identical. This phenomenon occurs when a chemical reaction or equilibrium involves the interconversion of two species, and the total concentration of these species remains constant. The presence of an isosbestic point indicates a simple two-component equilibrium or reaction without intermediate species accumulating.
