Natural autoantibodies
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007772
Immunoglobulin molecules produced by the immune system without prior exogenous antigenic stimulation. These antibodies are present in healthy individuals and can react with self-antigens, contributing to immune surveillance and homeostasis. They are typically low-affinity and polyspecific, distinguishing them from pathogenic autoantibodies that cause autoimmune diseases.
