Ovarian cycle

The series of events that occur in the ovaries, leading to the maturation and release of an ovum, and the preparation of the uterus for potential pregnancy. This cycle is regulated by hormones such as follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). It typically lasts about 28 days in humans and includes the follicular and luteal phases.
