Congenital adrenal hyperplasia
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002430
A group of inherited disorders affecting the adrenal glands, which are responsible for producing hormones. It results from a deficiency in one of the enzymes needed for cortisol synthesis, leading to an overproduction of androgens. The most common form is caused by a deficiency of 21-hydroxylase.
