Inducible co-stimulatory protein

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005796

A transmembrane protein of the CD28/CTLA-4 family that is expressed on the surface of activated T lymphocytes. It provides positive co-stimulatory signals to T cells following engagement with its ligand, promoting T cell proliferation, survival, and cytokine secretion. The specific ligand for this protein is ICOS-L (B7-H2), which is found on antigen-presenting cells, including B cells and macrophages.
