Oxo compounds

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008402

Organic compounds containing a carbonyl group, C=O, which can be part of an aldehyde, ketone, or quinone structure. This functional group is characterized by a carbon atom double-bonded to an oxygen atom. The reactivity of oxo compounds is influenced by the substituents attached to the carbonyl carbon.
